On lavender and sleep
The research on lavender and sleep is more robust than most aromatherapy claims. A 2015 meta-analysis in the Journal of Alternative and Complementary Medicine (Lillehei and Halcon) found consistent effects on sleep quality across multiple trials. The mechanism is thought to involve linalool’s effect on GABA-A receptors — the same receptor class targeted by benzodiazepines, though at a much lower agonist level.
At 2% lavender essential oil in a pillow mist, two sprays deliver a meaningful inhalation dose as the linalool off-gases from the fabric over the first hour of sleep.
On the bottle
The frosted glass bottle with terracotta-coloured spray head is refillable. When empty, a refill cartridge replaces the inner fluid while the outer vessel remains.
How to use
Hold 30cm from your pillow or bedlinen. Mist once or twice before sleep. Do not spray directly on face or into eyes. Shake before use. Store away from heat and direct sunlight.
When not to use
Do not spray near infants, pregnant women in the first trimester, or pets. Avoid on delicate silk fabric — test on an inconspicuous area first.
